A Night of Destiny

Lailatul Qadr

"The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months." (Quran 97:3)

1. The Night of Decree

Lailatul Qadr, also known as the Night of Power or Decree, is the most significant night in the Islamic year. It occurs during one of the odd-numbered nights in the last ten days of Ramadan. According to the Quran, any act of worship performed on this night is better than worship performed for a thousand months (over 83 years).

2. Secrets of the Night

This is the night when the Quran was first sent down to the lower heavens. It is also the night when the destiny of the upcoming year is decreed by Allah. Angels descend to the earth in great numbers, and a special peace envelops the believers until the break of dawn.

3. How to Seek It

Believers are encouraged to spend these nights in intense prayer, recitation of the Quran, and making sincere Dua (supplication). It is a night of immense forgiveness, where hearts are purified and spirits are renewed.
